This special women's health event is designed to educate and empower women to be aware of and take control of some of the most common and troubling issues that they may face as they mature.
Our expert speakers will cover:
There is really no need to suffer through this often debilitating life stage.
Hormone replacement is only one of many effective options and simple lifestyle changes can make all the difference to your quality of life.
Osteoporosis and osteopenia (its precursor) are silent killers affecting over 6.5 million people in Australia.
Women are at greater risk of developing osteoporosis because of the rapid decline in oestrogen levels during menopause.
In this session, you'll learn how to maintain your bone strength and manage osteoporosis at any age.
Incontinence is one of those very common but 'stigmatised' issues that we just don't like to talk about (and often don't seek help). But women make up 80% of people living with incontinence, with many experiencing problems after childbirth and menopause.
Common symptoms include passing urine frequently (or urgently), leakage, getting up through the night, frequent UTI's and bowel/wind issues. You should not ignore these problems because without help, they rarely go away and usually get worse over time.
The good news is that these problems can be treated, managed and often cured.
As we age, we know it’s important to stay active.
But does your pelvic floor limit what exercise you can do?
Jemma will help you understand pelvic floor safe workouts or modifications so you can stay strong through the years!
Your MC for the evening is Anna-Louise Bouvier, who you may have heard or seen presenting on ABC Radio (she's a regular with James Valentine) or ABC TV, Channel 7's House of Wellness, The Today Show and more.
Anna-Louise is the founder and creative director of Physiocise & Happy Body at Work . She is a recognised expert in her field and a health and wellbeing entrepreneur whose passion is to empower and educate clients with the tools they need for self-management.
She is also an ambassador for Steptember.
