Clinic 66 provides many gynaecological services including menopause and contraceptive counselling, infertility workup, unplanned pregnancy advice and management, incontinence management and medical treatment for common gynaecological conditions such as endometriosis and polycystic ovarian syndrome (PCOS). If you have troublesome menstruation there are usually simple treatments which can improve your quality of life. Vaginal discharge may be physiological (normal hormonal response) or related to infection or inflammation. After childbirth, and with increasing age, many women benefit from advice regarding pelvic floor exercise. Poor pelvic floor tone can lead to discomfort and/or bladder leakage. Our doctors will assess your pelvic floor and recommend next steps, should they be needed. Pelvic floor exercises can be undertaken by yourself, and kegel balls can help with this (we sell these in the clinic) or for more extensive treatment, pelvic floor physiotherapy may be recommended. Surgery may be an option for poor pelvic floor tone, but is not the first step. For women who need extra assistance, but who are not suitable or not interested in surgery, we can fit vaginal pessaries.
Clinic 66 provides a patient-centred, shared decision-making model, making sure you understand why you're experiencing particular symptoms and will provide a range of options for you to choose from.
Clinic 66 provides many office-based gynaecological procedures such as IUD and implant insertion and removal, Dilation and Curettage (D&C), cervical cancer screening (colposcopy and pap tests). D&C is commonly undertaken after a miscarriage or for retained tissue following a pregnancy. It can however be included as part of management for infertility and abnormal bleeding.
Our doctors provide consultations and some of them undertake procedures. We also have our own specialist gynaecologists in house. By consulting with our doctors you'll be guided through what you need, and we will provide you with an in house or onward referral if necessary.
Sydney has leading specialists in all medical fields, and several fantastic hospitals, should an inpatient stay be required. Many gynaecologists (FRANZCOG ie Fellow of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists) subspecialise in one particular area eg. infertility or cancer. Our doctors provide a broad range of gynaecological services at an affordable price. For that reason, many GPs refer directly to us. However, you do not need a referral to see our expert GPs. If you would like to see our in house specialists, we can provide a referral for you or you can get one from another doctor.
Clinic 66 is not a hospital, and we don't undertake major operations such as hysterectomy or ovary removal. We do, however, have expert local knowledge and should onward referral be necessary, be sure we will recommend the best gynaecologist for your particular needs and provide you with that referral.
